One of the great things about Robots In Disguise Optimus Prime is that his trailer becomes a base rather than just lying around when he isn't using it for armor. The problem with this is when Optimus uses his shoulder missile pods. Since the pods are made from the foundation of the base, you end up with a bunch of pieces left over. I've solved this problem.

Step One: Transform the outer walls and gun platforms into the sides of Prime's fire truck mode and position them as shown:

Make sure the chins point towards each other.

Step the Second: Attach the pegs on the truck sides into the shoulder holes of the Battle Mode head/chest/ladder piece, again as shown:

Pegs in holes. Sexiest. Base mode. EVER.

Final Step: Stand 'er up and arrange the rest to your taste. You now have a formidable, somewhat-steady big gun emplacement to back up Prime's missile barrage.

Yeah, I know the missile up top makes it look like a penis. Sue me.

One More Thing! With a slight variation on this mode, you can use either of Optimus' Battle Mode hands for a Flying Fist or Iron Knuckle attack! Check it out:

You can figure out this one yourself, kids.

Did I mention... that Optimus has built-in places to store his pistol when he's not using them? At first, I just kept the pistol tucked away in his left leg:

Every time Optimus steps too hard, he shoots himself.

However I was later shown that his backpack has a peg which his gun can be stored on. I still use the leg compartment when putting him in a fully-armored mode. (Battle Mode or Omega Prime.)

Ew. Green writing. Please forgive my "old man hands." This photo was impossible to take without hand support.
